Agent 279, utilizing the pseudonym Dickson, was a unnamed British Secret Service intelligence agent who operated out of Station 'H' in Hong Kong. He was a minor character, and was mentioned in Anthony Horowitz's 2015 James Bond continuation novel Trigger Mortis.

Biography[]

Trigger Mortis[]

During 1957,[1] Agent 279 was planning on returning to Britain for his annual fortnight's leave, and arranged his customary game of golf at Swinley with James Bond via his secretary Loelia Ponsonby. His actual identity is not revealed in the novel, instead the name "Dickson" - one of many pseudonyms - was given to Miss Ponsonby. Glad to escape from his cramped, windowless office on the Hong Kong waterfront, 279 always invited 007 for a round of golf, despite being a terrible golfer. The narrator notes that the change of scene made him feel at home.
