From Russia with Love (film)[]
In the movie, this ship serves as the headquarters of Ernst Stavro Blofeld. He summons Rosa Klebb and Kronsteen there twice in the movie.
Real Life History[]
The Delos (her name in 1963), built as Wappen von Hamburg, today named Aurora, was the first German ship after World War II. She was built by the famous Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg, used by the HADAD line to connect the German islands with the mainland. In late 1961, she was sold to Greece for £ 375.000, and renamed to 'Delos'. Under this name, she was used for filming 'From Russia with Love'. The ship was sold again in 1967, this time it went to Canada, was renamed 'Polar Star' and was used for trips to polar regions. After several renamings in the United States, it was last renamed in 2009, changing its name from 'Faithful' to 'Aurora'. After a lengthy attempt at restoration by a private owner near Stockton, CA and subsequent alleged sale, she started taking on water in May of 2024. She was patched and refloated in June[1].
