A jet aircraft - or jet for short - is an aircraft powered by a jet engine. Jet aircraft can fly faster and higher than propeller-driven aircraft. Over long distances, the most energy-efficient altitude of jet aircraft is over ten kilometers. Almost all modern aircraft models use a jet engine and are used in both military and civil aviation.
