Tractor aircraft is a propeller driven aircraft which has the engine(s) and propeller(s) mounted in the front, so that the aircraft is "pulled" through the air. This is also known as the tractor configuration.
An aircraft with a propeller at the back, which pushes the plane forward, is called a pusher aircraft (such as Hovercraft). Helicopters are not tractor aircraft; they are classified as rotorcraft, which are distinguished from fixed-wing "tractor" or "pusher" aircraft. Jet aircraft are also not tractor aircraft, as they are propelled by jet engines, not propellers, and can have engines mounted in various configurations like under the wings or on the fuselage.
