The flag of Egypt

Egypt (Arabic: مصر‎, Miṣr or Máṣr in Egyptian Arabic) or the Arab Republic of Egypt (Arabic: جمهورية مصر العربية‎, Jumhūriyyat Miṣr al-`Arabiyyah) is a country located northeast of Africa. Its neighboring countries are Israel in the northeast, Libya in the west and Sudan in the south. In the north, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea and in the east by the Red Sea.

Egypt is the fourteenth largest country in the world in terms of population and the largest Arab country. The majority of the country's one hundred million inhabitants live on the banks of the Nile, where Egypt's arable land is concentrated. Much of Egypt is the Sahara desert and sparsely populated. About half of the country's inhabitants live in cities, for example Cairo and Alexandria.

Egypt is known for its ancient high culture and its ancient sites, which are among the most important and oldest in the world, such as the Pyramid of Giza, the Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings and the Sphinx of Giza. Egypt is considered one of the most important centers of culture and politics in the Arab world and the Middle East.

History[]

Diamonds Are Forever (film)[]

Bond's briefly shown punching a man in the face in Cairo at a Blackjack table while looking for Blofeld at the start of Diamonds Are Forever. Seen as a loose Easter egg referencing OHMSS.

The Spy Who Loved Me (film)[]

MI6 follows the trail of the plans of a Submarine Tracking System used against submarines. In the Sahara desert an old contact tells Bond about a man named Aziz Fekkesh and he ends up going near the Great Pyramids to speak with him, but there he finds Aziz dead and the only thread left is another man named Max Kalba and his Mojaba Club in Cairo. At the club Bond finds the KGB rival Anya Amasova looking for the same plans. At the end Max Kalba is killed too by someone, and Bond and Anya follow the perpetrator to some ruins (the Thebes ruins). They recover the plans and later get on board a boat in the Nile river.

Everything or Nothing[]

Following the pre-titles and Q-Lab VR tutorial, the game proper begins at Southern Egypt, where Bond is sent to rescue Dr. Katya Nadanova. First, Bond destroys the facility producing nano-bots for the terrorists, before chasing down a train either in Triumph Daytona 600 or Porsche Cayenne Turbo. After Bond has gotten Dr. Nadanova out of the train, they fly through the Valley of the Kings at one point.
