The El Nido Bar is a fictional bar situated in Havana, Cuba. The location appears in the 2021 James Bond film, No Time to Die.

Background

James Bond arrives in the El Nido Bar

James Bond travels to the El Nido Bar at the request of Felix Leiter, who has identified it as the holding place of Valdo Obruchev, a scientist apparently captured by SPECTRE. Outside of the bar, Bond meets up with Paloma, a dashing Cuban operative of the Central Intelligence Agency who claims to have had only three weeks of training. The two make their way surreptitiously inside the bar, only for Bond to suddenly find himself in the spotlight. The whole thing turns out to have been a trap, set up remotely from prison by Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the head of SPECTRE. Bond is hit with a spray containing nanobots programmed with Heracles, which SPECTRE believes will kill him. Unknown to them, however, Obruchev has reprogrammed the nanobots to instead kill members of SPECTRE and they start doing so with great efficiency.

Bond and Paloma use the chaos to their advantage, shooting their way the scene and eventually locating Obruchev. They secure him, evading Nomi, an agent of MI6, in the process, and speed him away from the bar.
