Eton College is a 13–18 independent boarding school for boys near Windsor in Berkshire, England. Despite the inclusion of the word "college" in its name, it is a secondary, or high, school, not a tertiary college or part of a university.
It was founded in 1440 by King Henry VI as "Kynge's College of Our Ladye of Eton besyde Windesore",[1] as a sister institution to King's College, Cambridge. Eton's history and influence have made it one of the most prestigious schools in the world.[2]

The 1999 novel High Time to Kill features Roland Marquis as a major character. Marquis and Bond had a rivalry during their days in Eton College.
