The Ferrari F355 (Type F129, also known as Ferrari 355 F1) is a sports car by the manufacturer Ferrari in production from May 1994 until 1999. A revision of the Ferrari 348 with improved performance and lots of exterior changes, with some insistence put in its drivability in all environments.[1]

The car's premiere took place at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1994. At first, the car was available both as a Berlinetta with a coupé body and as a GTS with a targa roof. The Targa has removable roof panels that can be placed behind the seats while driving. In 1995, the Spider open-top model was also introduced.

The total production volume of the car was approximately 12,000 units. It was very successful and became the highest-selling model in Ferrari's history, significantly alleviating the company's financial situation at the time. This sales record would be surpassed by its successor, the Ferrari 360 (introduced 1999), with current best-selling Ferrari being the 488.

The F355 GTS variant appears in GoldenEye and 007 Racing, being driven by Xenia Onatopp. A yellow F355 Berlinetta appears in Die Another Day as one of Colonel Moon's/Gustav Graves' personal cars.

Xenia Onatopp prominently drives the Ferrari F355 GTS, that belongs 'to a friend', when challenging Bond in his Aston Martin DB5 on French country roads. Bond spots the Ferrari later in front of the casino, and later Xenia and Chuck Farrel use it to get to the Manticore. While making conversation with Xenia, Bond asks if there is now a Ferrari in every Russian garage.

Die Another Day (film)

The Ferrari appears when Moon's troops are shown cleaning the car along with the Lamborghini Diablo, the Porsche 911 Carrera, the Mercedes Benz SL (R230), the Ford GT40 and the Jaguar XKR. During Bond's escape only the Porsche is destroyed. The rest of the cars survive and is later seen in the cargo hold on Graves' plane. After Graves is killed and the plane is damaged, Bond and Jinx escape on a helicopter while the rest of the cars fall out of the back of the plane and land on a farm in South Korea. The Ferrari is seen along with the Lamborghini having landed on the farm.

Gustav Graves' yellow Ferrari F355 Berlinetta in Die Another Day appears to be a F355 GTS in some shots.

In early stages of filming GoldenEye, it appears that the Ferrari Xenia was meant to drive a yellow F355. There exists publicity photos of GoldenEye stars Pierce Brosnan, Famke Janssen and Izabella Scorupco - sometimes accompanied by Samantha Bond as well - sitting on a hood of an yellow F355. John Gardner's novelization of GoldenEye maintains Xenia's Ferrari as the yellow one.
