Live And Let Die (BW Small) NovelFilmRadio dramaGameSoundtrackSongCharactersReleases

Live and Let Die is the theme song of the Bond film of the same name. Like the score for the entire film, the song was written by Paul McCartney (along with Linda McCartney). It was performed by Paul McCartney and the band Wings.

The song frequently changes tempo and style, at one point including a brief reggae interlude (the first appearance of Caribbean style music since Dr. No). While parts of the song are mellow (presumably reflecting life), others are violent and angry (presumably the "let die" sections).

There is a notable cover version of the song by American band Guns 'n' Roses off their Use your Illusion album.

Lyrics[]

When you were young,
and your heart was an open book.

You used to say, "Live and let live",
(You know you did, you know you did, you know you did),
but if this ever-changing world in which we live in,
makes you give in and cry.

Say live and let die,
live and let die,
live and let die,
live and let die.

What does it matter to ya, when you've got a job to do, you gotta do it well,
you gotta give the other fellow Hell.

You used to say, "Live and let live'",
(You know you did, you know you did, you know you did),
but if this ever-changing world in which we live in,
makes you give in and cry.

Say, live and let die,
live and let die,
live and let die,
live and let die.
