Skyfall Lodge was a fictional mansion and landed estate in the Scottish Highlands. The estate was the ancestral home of the Bond family prior to the untimely demise of both Andrew and Monique Delacroix Bond; after which it fell into disuse. It was subsequently destroyed during an altercation with the terrorist, Raoul Silva. The site served as a central location for the eponymous 2012 James Bond film, Skyfall.

Skyfall (film)[]
Prior to the events of Skyfall, the Bond family resided at Skyfall Lodge, though James Bond had not visited his ancestral home since his parents' deaths. Its only resident ever since has been gamekeeper Kincade. After they died, Bond's parents were buried in the chapel on the grounds. The lodge has a hidden tunnel that leads to the estate's bog, which after being crossed leads to a chapel. It also had an armoury as mentioned by 007, but unfortunately Kincade sold every single gun found in the room to a collector "...from Idaho, or some such place," leaving only a few sticks of dynamite and his father's hunting rifle.
After taking M and the Aston Martin DB5, Bond decides to drive to Skyfall, while asking Q to leave an electronic trail for the location to his pursuer Raoul Silva. With the help of Kincade, Bond and M fill the place with booby traps. The attack by Silva and his men ends up destroying the house, but Bond, M and Kincade manage to escape to the chapel, where both Silva and M die (Silva being killed by Bond after he threatens M's life, and M succumbing to a gunshot wound she'd received in the house).
When Bond caused the Lodge to explode he noted and muttered "I always hated this place." It was Bond's way of saying goodbye to his family home and all the memories he made there.

A conceptual prototype for the Skyfall Lodge likely originates from the Unmade 15th Bond film script that was rejected in favor of The Living Daylights. In the unmade film, after having caused a incident in Vienna, James Bond goes to his ancestral home in the Scottish highlands, to meet with his paternal grandfather and Aunt Charmian. While mulling there, he would eventually be inspired to join the mission suggested by Miles Messervy.
The lodge set was custom built on land owned by the British Ministry of Defence at Hankley Common near Elstead in Surrey, England.[1] Full-scale models of the buildings and gate were constructed using plywood and plaster; they were subsequently destroyed in the film's explosive finale.[2] The location had been used previously for filming Azerbaijani sequences in The World Is Not Enough (1999) and doubled for the Korean Demilitarized Zone in Die Another Day (2002). Establishing shots of the Scorrish Highlands were shot on location in Glencoe.[3]
