- "Inside the case, you'll find an AR 7 folding sniper's rifle, point two five calibre, with an infrared telescopic sight."
- ― Q to James Bond
The Folding Sniper Rifle was a gadget created by Q Branch, which allowed James Bond to keep his weapon hidden within his Attaché Case.
History[]
From Russia with Love (film)[]
- "Arm, or no arm, I have to pull that trigger."
"If you think you can, you've got one shot, remember." - ― Ali Kerim Bey and James Bond
Ahead of James Bond's mission to Russia to obtain the Lektor from their enemies, he was provided with the Attaché Case by Q, while this was being observed by M. As Q was demonstrating how the Case could be used, he also showed Bond the Folding Sniper Rifle inside, noting that it used point two five calibre ammunition and an infrared telescopic sight, while also showing him how the gun would be assembled and put away.
Following an attempt on Ali Kerim Bey's life, Bond and Bey tracked down Krilencu, who had led the assassination attempt. While Bey arranged for Krilencu to be tricked into leaving his safe house, Bond quietly assembled the Folding Sniper Rifle, which he placed onto Bey's shoulder for support. However, Bey insisted that he must be the one to kill Krilencu, due to their long history together, despite Bey's injured arm. Bond agreed and allowed Bey to use his shoulder as a rest, as Bey took careful aim at Krilencu, shooting him in the back as Krilencu was attempting to climb down to safety.
Having escaped assassination by Red Grant, Bond and Tatiana Romanova had kidnapped Rhoda and continued their escape in Rhoda's van. However, they were soon found by SPECTRE, who sent a helicopter to kill them. Bond took his Attaché Case and ran into the fields, attempting to draw the helicopter away, before hiding behind a rock and assembling the Folding Sniper Rifle. As the helicopter pilot attempted to drop another grenade, Bond shot the man in the arm, causing him to drop the grenade inside the helicopter, which exploded and killed the SPECTRE agents. Bond would then use the Rifle to threaten Rhoda into leading them to his boat and allowing them to escape.

Trivia[]
- Notably, real-life AR-7s fire a .22 Long Rifle cartridge. It is quite possible that Q modified a normal Armalite AR-7 to accept .25 ACP cartridges.
