The Hypnosis Ring was a modified gold ring (with prominent red jewel) designed to place victims in a trance-like state. Owned by criminal, Maximillion Cortex, it is unclear whether the device generated the hypnotic effect or amplified the wearer's existing abilities. The item appeared in episode 36 ("Leonardo da Vinci's Vault") of the 1991 spin-off animated television series, James Bond Jr., and was used extensively by Cortex during his scheme to find Leonardo da Vinci's vault.
