John Joseph Patrick Ryan (December 30, 1920 – January 21, 1998), best known by his stage name, Jack Lord, was an American actor famous for his role in the television show Hawaii Five-O played as Steve McGarrett. He played the part of Felix Leiter in the 1962 film Dr. No.
He was asked to reprise the role of Leiter for 1964's Goldfinger, but after he requested a raise and co-starring role he was replaced according to the producers. Lord himself dispute this version.
