Commander James Bond, C.M.G., R.N. is a fictional Senior Operational Officer of the 'Double-O' ('00') branch, an ultra-covert Black Ops unit within the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). Bond holds code number "007". The 'Double-O' prefix indicates his discretionary licence to kill in the performance of his duties. The character was briefly portrayed by British actor Christopher Cazenove in the 1973 BBC documentary Omnibus: The British Hero, but not as part of the Eon series or any other.
Television appearance[]
Ian Fleming's James Bond also makes appearance in the 1973 BBC documentary Omnibus: The British Hero where he was played by Christopher Cazenove. The character, in fact, was leaning more to Fleming's interpretation of the character than the one seen in the EON Productions movie franchise. The documentary included Bond in dramatised scenes from the novels Goldfinger ānotably featuring 007 being threatened with the novel's circular saw by Auric Goldfinger and Oddjob, rather than the film's laser beamā and Diamonds Are Forever along with Tiffany Case . However, the documentary's exception was that it wasn't actually a full time movie dedicated to the Bond character as Cazenove also played other characters such as Bulldog Drummond or Richard Hannay. Both of those characters served as inspirations for Bond.
