Krilencu was the fictional Bulgarian leader of the "Faceless Ones" gang and an operative of Soviet counterintelligence agency, SMERSH. The character was first introduced in the 1957 James Bond novel, From Russia, with Love, by Ian Fleming. He was subsequently adapted for radio, comics, film, and games.

Biography

Krilencu was the leader of the "Faceless Ones", a Bulgarian gang that operated in the Balkans. He was an occasional agent of SMERSH and collaborated with the Soviet Union. He twice attempted to assassinate Darko Kerim, orchestrating the attack on the gipsy camp against him and Bond. Eventually he was shot dead by Kerim using a rifle inside his walking stick.
