Land Rover Range Rover - usually shortened to just Range Rover - is a 4x4 luxury SUV produced by Land Rover (currently a marque and sub-brand of Jaguar Land Rover.) Introduced in 1970, the Range Rover was designed to be a more refined version of the older utilitarian off-road vehicles that Land Rover manufactured. Immediately after its introduction, the Range Rover became a popular car in the luxury off-road vehicle class.

The Range Rover is divided into following generations:

  • First Generation / "Classic" (1970-1996)
  • Second Generation / "P38" (1994-2002)
  • Third Generation / "L322" (2002-2012)
  • Fourth Generation / "L405" (2012-present)

In addition, there exists Range Rover Sport, which is essentially considered a sub-family of the marque itself, with its own generations.

The Range Rover models are a fairly common sight in James Bond movies from 1980s onward, with the film series having the prestige to feature some specialized models and even pre-production versions of the newest Range Rovers of the time.
