Major Clive is a fictional retired British Army officer. The character appeared in the 1983 James Bond film Octopussy, portrayed by English actor Stuart Saunders.

Biography

A retired British army officer, Major Clive loses 220,000 rupees to exiled Afghan prince Kamal Khan while playing backgammon at the Shiv Niwas Palace Hotel casino in India. Unbeknownst to The Major, Khan is using a loaded dice that reveals a winning double six when needed. Clive refuses Kamal's offer to increase the stakes to 100,000 and leaves the table. James Bond then takes Clive's place at the table.
