Meraki (Dynamite)

The island of Meraki, as depicted in Dynamite Entertainment's comic, Agent of SPECTRE (2021).

Meraki was a fictional island off the coast of Greece owned by Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the head of the criminal organisation, SPECTRE. The location first appeared in Dynamite Entertainment's James Bond comic arc, Agent of SPECTRE, which ran between 3rd March and 21st July, 2021.

Appearance[]

The stronghold of criminal mastermind Ernst Blofeld, he named the small island "Meraki", a word without a formal English equivalent; but paraphrased as "putting part of yourself into what you do". The island was primarily accessible by sea and had a small dock on its southern coastline. Inland the island was heavily foliaged with palm trees and scrub. The main complex, containing technology laboratories, lay underground and was primarily accessed by an elevator linked to one of the island's surface-level huts. The entire island was rigged with a self-destruct mechanism. During the final day of the SPECTRE civil war, the facility fell under attack from forces loyal to Blofeld's rival, the ambitious Titania Jones. It was subsequently destroyed by Blofeld, who secretly managed to escaped the conflagration.
