The Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL is a full-size luxury car built by German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, and a member of their S-Class family, belonging to the W126 generation, which was built from 1979 to 1991.

The SEL is the LWB version of the standard Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W126). The W126 replaces the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W116), and was succeeded by the W140 generation S-Class, which is represented by the Mercedes-Benz 400 SE in the James Bond films.

History

Max Zorin drives a black 500 SEL with additional AMG-package in A View to a Kill, it is seen when he arrives at San Francisco City Hall with it. A deleted scene, in which Zorin and his passengers Scarpine, May Day, Pan Ho and Jenny Flex take jarrycans out of the trunk.

Although the car is not well visible in the movie, a set photo (seen on top of this page) exists, which clearly shows that Zorin's black Mercedes is in fact a brand new 500 SEL with AMG-package.

Another W126 S-Class with the LWB SEL body appears in GoldenEye. It is the grey Mercedes Jack Wade leans against while waiting for Bond at the airport.
