The Paris Taxi Driver appears in the 1985 James Bond film A View to a Kill as a minor character. He is portrayed by French actor Lucien Jérôme.

Biography[]

During his break, the taxi driver has his blue Renault 11 TXE taxicab parked at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. While reading a newspaper (Le Monde?) and drinking something that looks like wine, he refuses to 'follow that parachute', as James Bond tells him.

Bond, who needs to catch up with the parachute (used by May Day after she jumped off the Eiffel Tower), grabs the taxi driver, pulls him out of the car, and throws him into a souvenir stall, then takes the car and drives off. The shocked taxi driver runs after his car, as Bond crosses a crosswalk on Quai Branly and violently drives the Renault down the steps at Pont d'Iéna.
