Biography[]

Double or Die[]

Mandeville was a friend of James Bond at Eton College who was known to have founded the Danger Society. At Eton he became caught up in a kidnapping case after helping to solve some clues from a message sent from the missing professor Alexis Fairburn. He helped James to drive to Cambridge, and worked through more clues with Pritpal Nandra while James went to visit Professor Ivar Petersen, who had close ties to Fairburn. There they were separated, and missed one another at their appointed meeting place by hours. After returning to his home, Perry awoke the next morning to find James at his door. The two then went to Highgate Cemetery to search for a clue Fairburn had left there. They were attacked by Wolfgang and Ludwig Smith, but James was able to fight them off while Perry made an escape on his orders. Perry and Nandra then used the clues they had gathered to return to Eton in order to look at 15th century wall paintings in one of Eton's chapels to see the painting of Sir Amoras attempting to sell his wife to Satan. This gave them vital information about Fairburn's whereabouts, as earlier in the letter, they had deciphered that John Charnage, who had been planning to sell a code cracking machine to the Soviet Union, and that the name of his ship was the "Amoras". Perry then went to Hackney Wick to meet with Bond after delivering the information by telephone, and met with Red Kelley, with whom he created a small army of dock workers to save James and Fairburn from the Russian sailors. During the fight, Perry and Fairburn were kidnapped by Colonel Irina Sedova, who took them through the Pneumatic Rail System, but when Perry became too bothersome, she struck him on the head with her gun and left him. He was eventually found by James, Red, and Kelley Kelley, and helped to get Fairburn back.
