Poland, officially the Republic of Poland, is a country located in Central Europe. Poland's capital and largest metropolis is Warsaw. Other major cities include Kraków, Łódź, Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk, and Szczecin. Following the Second World War, Poland became one of many countries behind the Iron Curtain. In the aftermath of the Revolutions of 1989, Poland reestablished itself as a presidential democratic republic. The Polish People's Republic, a satellite state under Soviet influence[1], was mentioned in the James Bond comic strip, Trouble Spot, which ran in The Daily Express newspapers between December 28, 1971 and June 10, 1972.
