The Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (993) is a sports car shortly featured in the 2002 James Bond movie Die Another Day, appearing as one of Colonel Tan-Sun Moon/Gustav Graves' personal cars.

Built by German manufacturer Porsche, it belongs in the '993' generation of the iconic 911 series. The 993 replaced Porsche 911's 964 generation, with the 993 itself was replaced by the 996 generation in 1998. The Carrera 4 is the 4WD variant of the standard Carrera.

History

Colonel Moon owns a silver Porsche 911 Carrera 4, which is parked at his headquarters in North Korea. During its first appearance, a KPA soldier can be seen polishing the Porsche. When James Bond has to escape from the military camp, the Porsche gets riddled with bullet holes fired by numerous soldiers, but is ultimately destroyed, when Bond accidentally fires a missile from the hovercraft into it.

Behind the Scenes

Two different cars have been used for this scene: The first one is a 911 in perfect condition, while the one that explodes appears to have been damaged before: It has no interior, and the rear appears to have been crashed.
