Reade Griffith was a CIA agent investigating Corsican drug traffickers in the south of France. He worked briefly with 007 on his assignment. After 007's death, Griffith rode to the man's apartment on his Aiorne Tourismo to search for clues, Griffith found an intruder in the flat and held him at gunpoint with his M1911 Colt Service Ace. The man attacked him and knocked the gun out of his hand before slamming his fist into Griffith's throat. When he finally came to, he learned that the man was the new 007, a man named James Bond. They decided to investigate as a team, and looked over the clues left for them at a cafe in town.
