Ricardo was a criminal operative of the secretive criminal organisation, SPECTRE. A minor antagonist portrayed by Canadian actor and stuntman, Ian Bulloch, he appeared in the 1965 James Bond film, Thunderball.
Biography[]
Ricardo is one of Emilio Largo's henchmen who is first introcued in the background in his boss' villa during the exeuction of another enforcer for failing to spy on MI6 agent James Bond. A few days later Largo's men took Bond's contact Paula Caplan to Palmyra and he, Fiona Volpe and another henchman abduct the young woman, who commits suicide by ingesting her cyanide pill while being interrogated by Ricardo. Bond later knocks out the man when he arrives at Largo's villa.
After Bond escapes from the villa, Ricardo, Volpe, Janni and several others SPECTRE operatives pursue him to the Kiss Kiss Club, where Volpe approaches Bond as he is dancing with another woman. Assuming Volpe is his wife, the woman abruptly leaves, and the pair begin slow-dancing. As they dance one of the henchmens takes aim at Bond from behind a nearby curtain. Bond notices in time and spins Volpe into the path of the bullet, piercing her spine and killing her instantly. Witnessing the death of their superior, Ricardo and the remaining thugs flee.
During the final battle between the American military and SPECTRE, Ricardo, Largo and another man attack Bond in the cockpit of Largo's ship the Disco Volante. During the brawl, Ricardo is punched overboard by 007 and fall into the sea, where he presumably drowns.
