Roland Joseph Culver, OBE (31 August 1900 – 1 March 1984) was an English stage, film, and television actor, noted for his distinctive pinched looks.
Personal life[]
Culver came from a notable family of actors. His grandfather was founder of George Culver Optics Ltd. His son was the character actor, Michael Culver (who also appears in Thunderball), and his wife casting director Daphne Rye. His other son was the actor Robin Culver. He had two grandsons, Roderic Culver and Justin and a granddaughter, Sue Culver. He was active in acting from the 1930s to the 1980s.
Bond role[]
In Thunderball he plays one of the men we hear giving a briefing to M and others.
