"SIG, 226. Front sight... Rear sight... Hammer... You just point it, you squeeze the trigger, you try not to close your eyes."
James Bond to Madeleine Swann[src]

The SIG Sauer P226 is a full-sized service pistol, that's been featured in James Bond media, primarily in the James Bond films starring Daniel Craig.

Manufactured by SIG Sauer, the P226 was developed for the XM9 Service Pistol Trials, held by the United States Military in mid-1980s to replace the M1911A1. It is essentially the same basic design of the SIG P220, but developed to use higher capacity, staggered-column magazines in place of the single-column magazines of the P220. The P226 was one of the two finalists of the program, along with Beretta 92 -- but the former lost to latter's total package price.

Regardless, the P226 would be adopted to some US Special Forces Units, most notably the US Navy SEALs. In the United Kingdom, it too was adopted by specialist units, notably the Special Air Service. Compact variants of P226 exist, the P228 and the P229.

M's bodyguard has a SIG-Sauer P226, which he uses to kill two of M's men and attempts to kill her, but Bond makes him hit the captive Mr. White and pursues him. As the guard tries to get his, Bond managed to pick up his Walther PPK and shoots him dead.

After incapacitating his arresters, Bond steals a SIG Sauer from one and places it behind his back. He uses it during the firefight at Perla de las Dunas and with it kills many of General Medrano's and Dominic Greene's men, including Carlos and Greene's Driver, but loses it when Greene attacked him with a fire axe.
