
Shrublands Health Farm.
Shrublands is a fictional health farm near Washington in Sussex run by Joshua Wain which first appears in Ian Fleming's 1961 James Bond novel, Thunderball. The location was subsequently featured in the book's two cinematic adaptations, Thunderball in 1965 and Never Say Never Again in 1983. A very different version of Shrublands, this time situated in Madagascar, also appeared in the 2015 mobile video-game, James Bond: World of Espionage.

Trivia[]
- The visit to the health clinic was inspired by Ian Fleming's own 1955 trip to Enton Hall, a health farm near Godalming, Surrey, England.[1]
- The name Shrublands was suggested to Fleming by a friend Peter Quennell, who was an author, poet, historian and editor. Quennell's parents house was of the same name.[2]
- Exterior scenes for Thunderball were filmed at Chalfont Park House in Buckinghamshire, England.[3]
- Exterior scenes for Never Say Never Again were filmed at Luton Hoo in Bedfordshire, England.[4]
