Sir Donald Munger is the chairman of the diamond syndicate. A supporting character portrayed by the late British actor, Laurence Naismith, he appeared in the 1971 James Bond film, Diamonds Are Forever.

Biography[]

Donald Munger is a respected expert in the field of diamonds who is the chairman of the diamond syndicate, which controls most of the legal diamond trading in the world. He raises concerns with the Prime Minister regarding the increase in smuggling from South Afican mines, urging the British Secret Service to become involved. Munger later meets M and James Bond and tells them about the fear that someone is hoarding diamonds in an effort to globally reduce prices when they are flooded onto the market. M then sends Bond to investigate.

Munger is a dignified elegant gentleman who enjoys the finer things in life. He shares Bond's passion for drink as they discuss pleasantries regarding the fine sherry he serves.
