Sue Sayer was a British student attending Warfield Academy and a gifted telepath. A one-shot ally, the character appeared in episode 35 ("Mindfield") of the 1991 animated television series, James Bond Jr.
Biography[]
A gifted telepath, Sue's mind-reading powers began emerging when she was very young. Now enrolled at Warfield Academy, her record of perfect examination scores was strongly implied to be the result of reading minds. Her remarkable abilities drew the attention of jealous rivals such as Trevor Noseworthy and, notably, the criminal organisation, S.C.U.M., who dispatched their operative Ms. Fortune to abduct her from the school. Using her powers, they intended to read world leaders' minds to obtain the location of treasure belonging to the micro-nations of San Cristobal and Verzano.
An initial abduction attempt by helicopter was made while she was cycling with James Bond Jr. outside the school grounds. It was foiled by Bond fashioning a pair of bolas from his sneakers and hurling them into the craft's tail rotors. Later that evening, the villains released a drone from their helicopter, which burst through Sue's dormitory window as she talked with Bond; knocked them both out with anaesthetic gas and abducted them. They were flown to the San Cristobal embassy in London; where she was forced to use her powers to retrieve the location of the treasure handover from the diplomat inside: the Hotel Monte del Diablo on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.
Once there, the villains took over the hotel, placed a bomb in the island's volcano (the hotel was built around its crater) and bound the pair in the swimming pool. After stunning the San Cristobal dignitaries, Ms. Fortune used Sue to obtain the vault combinations from their unconscious minds. She stole the jewels, sealed Sue and the dignitaries in the vault and armed the volcano bomb to cover her tracks. Trapped in the vault, Sue telepathically communicated with Bond and gave him the combination to release her. Bond subsequently sealed the bomb in a plastic bubble using one of I.Q.'s gadgets and rolled it down the volcano toward Ms. Fortune's yacht; sinking it along with the treasure.
