The Taiwanese Tycoon was a fictional unnamed business associate of wealthy industrialist, Max Zorin. A minor character portrayed by the late British actor Anthony Chinn, he appeared in the 1985 James Bond film, A View to a Kill.
Biography[]
Max Zorin holds a conference with different businessmen onboard his Skyship 6000. Among the guests is the Taiwanese tycoon, who becomes outraged when Zorin demands 100 million dollars from each of them and half of their net income, to form a global microchip production cartel "to end the domination of Silicon Valley". Zorin seemingly accepts the man's decision, and asks him to respect the confidential discussion by waiting outside. The industrialist's assistant, May Day, leads him out of the conference room to a flight of stairs. As he descends, she pushes a switch - transforming it into a slide, sending the tycoon through a hatch in the floor, and out of the airship. The screaming man plummets to his death in the San Francisco bay. Zorin then makes a joke about his death: Anybody else wanna drop out?
