Main Villain[]

I think Elektra should be considered the main villain, as it is shown during her death that she had the power the call off Rendard at any given moment. Tysonjackson (talk) 07:34, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Main Villain[]

Indeed Elektra had a degree of control over Renard but at the same time, it was Renard's direct influence over Elektra that caused her mind to snap. To quote TV Tropes : "It is hotly disputed whether Renard is the henchman, or King is Renard's puppet". It is implied in the scene where he speaks with M, that Renard believes that Elektra is a byproduct of his reign of chaos and that he will happily act out Elektra's wishes if it means that it will greatly damage the western oil market. Later on, Elektra claims to Bond that she was able to seduce Renard using her feminine wiles. This means that both individuals believe that they are in control of their respective ally. Also, though Renard was devoted to Elektra, both her and Renard act accordingly to accomplish their own separate goals: Elektra seeks revenge upon her father for seemingly betraying her while Renard seeks revenge upon MI6 and to throw the world into entropy. Another factor is that Renard has command over a vast number of his own personal servants and henchmen such as The Cigar Girl. In conclusion, it can be assumed that since the otherwise polar opposite motives of the two respective villains align, The World Is Not Enough provides one of three instances where Bond faces off against two villains working together in tandem (the other two being Octopussy and The Living Daylights). --RenardSilva95 (talk) 04:42, December 2, 2014 (UTC)RenardSilva95
