Cold War Device[]
Cipher machines certainly were used during the Cold War, and the Spektor or Lektor was supposed to be advanced, and it could have been electronic. During at least the early days of the Cold War, Russia actually did use at least one cipher machine - Fialka ("violet") - that was an improved version of the Enigma, for that matter.
