The unnamed pilot was a terrorist pilot who attended an illegal arms bazaar on the Russian border. Portrayed by British actor, Theo Kypri, the character served as a minor antagonist in the 1997 James Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies, and its accompanying novelisation, penned by Raymond Benson.

Biography[]

In 1997[1], unidentified terrorist pilot attended an illegal arms bazaar at a mountainous airfield on the Russian border. Attempting to evacuate a nuclear-equipped Aero L-39 Albatros from an impending cruise missile strike, British agent James Bond stole the jet and took to the skies - pursued by the terrorist pilot in a second L-39. He engaged in a furious dogfight with 007 as the spy simultaneously grappled with his plane's hitherto unconscious co-pilot; who attempted to garotte Bond with a headphone cable. Bond manoeuvred his aircraft directly underneath the terrorist pilot and triggered the rear ejector seat — sending his assailant upwards and through the fuselage of the second plane. Both the human projectile and L-39 pilot were killed in the resulting explosion.

Alternate Continuities[]

The plot is almost identical to its film counterpart, with the addition of a nearby village which is threatened by the nuclear torpedo's radioactive payload.
