Tetsurō Tamba (Japanese: 丹波 哲郎 July 17, 1922 – September 24, 2006) was a Japanese actor and seiyū revealed in the West for his role as the spy Tiger Tanaka in the 1967 James Bond film You Only Live Twice where he co-starred with Sean Connery, Akiko Wakabayashi and Mie Hama. He appeared in more than 300 films and series between 1952 and 2006 and is also known in Western cinema for his role as a samurai in the spaghetti western The Five Man Army (1969). Tamba is also considered an important religious figure in Japan since the late 1990s.
