Titania Jones, also known by the cryptonym Number Seven, was an American security contractor and prominent member of the global criminal organisation SPECTRE. The character served as an antagonist in Dynamite Entertainment's James Bond comic arc, Agent of SPECTRE, which ran between 3rd March and 21st July, 2021.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Titania Jones was a former U.S. Army Captain who subsequently established a successful and ostensibly legitimate private security company with minority partner, Harlan Clark. Unbeknownst to the world, Jones was secretly an influential member of SPECTRE's ruling council, known by the cryptonym "Number Seven". By circa 2021, the ambitious and intelligent Jones had quietly consolidated a power base and instigated an internal coup against the organisation's leader, Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Agent of SPECTRE[]

To quietly resolve the SPECTRE civil war by killing his rival, Blofeld enlisted the assistance of Secret Intelligence Service agent, James Bond. The spy obtained her itinerary from Clark's Washington D.C. residence, during which he killed the man in such a way that implicated the Ukrainian mafia. Bond later approached Jones at a charity fundraiser at the Corcoran College of Art and Design; obliquely referencing the Ukrainian angle as he made a pass at her. Her curiosity piqued, Jones slipped away from her bodyguard and met with Bond. Their gunpoint-conversation was abruptly interrupted by the hostile intervention of Felix Leiter; who was investigating Harlan's death and unaware of Jones' true identity. Before Jones could shoot Leiter, Bond incapacitated him with a seemly fatal shot to the head.

After an evenly-matched fist and firefight, Bond unexpectedly offered Titania his help to find and kill Blofeld first. She agreed and they spent an amorous evening at her home - during which she implanted a tracking chip under his skin using her nails. Correctly suspicious of Bond's intentions, she tracked him to a meeting with Blofeld atop Mount Lycabettus in Athens and made a thwarted attempt on her rival's life using several helicopter gunships. Undeterred by the failure, Jones donned a suit of hi-tech armour and personally followed the pair to Blofeld's stronghold at Meraki; bribing his own men into taking up arms against him. After a protracted battle, Bond outmanoeuvred and temporarily blinded Titania using a flare. She grudgingly accepted his offer to save her from the self-destructing island in exchange for intel on SPECTRE - but was promptly shot through the head by Blofeld.
