Varley Thomas was an English actress who appeared as an unnamed Swiss gatekeeper in the 1964 Bond film Goldfinger.
Biography[]
Beginning her onscreen acting career in 1961, her brief appearance in Goldfinger is Thomas' most famous role. Beyond it, she also acted in ITV Play of the Week and, in her last known role, a 1973 miniseries about the infamous Jack the Ripper.
Notably, she appeared in an episode of the television series Public Eye, a show which featured Bond alumni Geoffrey Palmer, Bernard Lee and Michael Culver.
According to the imfdb, Thomas' character was equipped with an MP-40 submachine gun, the same weapon utilized by Goldfingers' other henchmen throughout the film.
