William Boyd (born March 7, 1952 in Ghana) is a Scottish novelist and author who wrote the 2013 James Bond novel titled Solo.
Biography[]
Boyd was born in Ghana and moved around as a child, studying in Scotland and Nice, France. He worked at St. Hilda's college in Oxford in the early 1980s where he wrote his first novel, A Good Man in Africa. He has since published numerous novels and won numerous literary awards.
In 2005 he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
