Worn like a wrist-watch, the weapon is activated by nerve impulses from the user's wrist. It can fire both armor-piercing and cyanide-coated darts.
History[]
Following his briefing about the Moonraker's disappearance, Q gave James Bond the Wrist-Mounted Dart Gun, which he told Bond to wear on his sleeve. While Q was explaining how he could activated the dart gun by twisting his wrist, Bond demonstrated the move and inadvertently fired a dart, which struck a painting of a horse, much to M's annoyance. While Q reminded Bond to be careful, he then explained that the dart gun used two kinds of darts, blue which were armour piercing, and red which contained Cyanide, and he would be provided with five of each.
While he was being shown around the Drax Industries' building, Bond was invited by Holly Goodhead to test out their Centrifuge Chamber. However, while Bond was inside the machine and testing the g-force, the machine was sabotaged by Chang, who increased the pressure, getting to a point beyond what the human body could endure. Moments before he would passout and eventually die, Bond was able to lift his wrist and fired an armour piercing dart into the machinary, causing the chamber to power down, as Goodhead came to Bond's aid as he struggled to walk.
Having discovered that Hugo Drax was behind the conspiracy, Bond and Goodhead had managed to get onboard Drax's Space Station to sabotage his plans. As Bond chased down Drax, he managed to corner him down one of the hallways, only for Drax to grab a Laser Pistol, which he intended to kill Bond with. However, as Bond lifted his hands to surrender, he twisted his wrist and fired a cyanide coated dart into Drax's heart. As Drax stumbled backwards, dying from the dart's poison, Bond then moved him into the airlock, and proceeded to fire him out into space.
