Tested by Q Branch, this gadget was made to look like a tea tray, which secretly held an X-Ray Document Scanner.

History

While James Bond was being shown his equipment by Q ahead of his next mission, Q had placed his plane ticket, which was still in conceled an envelope on the X-Ray Document Scanner. Reading the scan of the ticket from the computer, Q noted Bond's confusion and explained what the device was.
